Well MSS the time has come for you to make a decision. Who will be running your Student Activity Council next year? Will it be Morgan Anderson or Reade Legault!
Just a couple of REALLY important updates!
First off the dance SAC had planned forJune 10th has been cancelled. Secondly, Student Council Elections are fast approaching. If you are an MSS student and would be interested in running be sure to listen to the morning announcements as they will have important information regarding nomination process and deadlines!

1) Elections
-Nomination sheets will be available on Friday, May 27th
-Nominations start Monday, May 30th, and are due Friday, June 3rd
-Election campaigning starts Monday, June 6th
-Speeches must be approved by Ms. Power or Thorpe on Wednesday, June 8th
-Speeches will be given on Thursday, June 9th at lunch
-Voting will occur on Friday, June 10th in homeroom
-The winners will be announced on Monday, June 13th
-Action Items

2) Wacky Hair Day
Will be held June 3rd
Student Council would like to thank everyone who came out and dressed up for this week’s spirit events! You are the reason we do these, and it’s good to see a lot of student participation. If you have any ideas for future spirit events please feel free to let us know. Comment here, or talk to any Student Council member and your ideas will be brought to our meetings. Once again thank you all for your participation and support!
1) Spirit Week
Will be held May 16th-20th
Monday- Musical Chairs, organized by Elizabeth and Laila
Tuesday- Dance Competition, organized by Morgan and Maggie
Wednesday- Western Day
Thursday- Arm Wrestling Competition, organized by Prama, Sandy and Gillian
Friday- Hawaiian day
-Action Items
Maggie and Morgan are making posters
Prama will ask Ms. Millanoff about her arm wrestling table
Reade is making announcements for the whole week (let him know about any important details)
Prizes for competitions will be dance tickets
2) Dance
Graffiti dance was approved, and will be held June 10th
OSAID will be selling drinks
The GSA will help set up and be given some of the profits from the dance

Morgan will talk to the GSA
Stephanie is making tickets
*We will sell tickets to other Student Councils at Le Caron and PSS*
Reade will ask if we can invite St. T’s to our dance
Rebecca will talk to Le Caron

3) 30 Hour Famine
We will be providing orange drink for the participants

-The GSA dance was cancelled, and was going to be the last dance of the year.
-We will appeal to administration in an attempt to have a make-up dance
-This Blacklight/Graffitti dance will tentatively be held June 10th

2) Brick-by-Brick
-Brick-by-Brick made its official thank you to SAC for all of the help that they gave during the Penny Wars
-Thank you so much to everyone who helped count, organize, or just gave general help!
3) Website
-Reade has made a SAC website linked off of the school website
-There have been a few posts, a summary of SAC, and will soon have the minutes of each meeting updated every week

SAC in conjunction with Brick-By-Brick organized the second annual Penny War. this year we raised over $1400, surpassing our goal.
The home room that won the war with the most points was Mr. Compton’s Grade 12 Writers Craft class. The home room with the most money raised was Mr. Jenkinson’s Grade 12 Challenge and Change class.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who participated! We look forward to doing this again next year!
Hey MSS, this is our first official post. We just wanted to let you know what’s happening on our calendar.
This Thursday, April 21st we will be hosting Jers-Day when you can dress in your favourite sports jersey or GTL it like the cast of Jersey shore. Be sure to dress up and show your spirit!
